Getting Started

The PTZOptics Horizon Web UI is a browser-based control interface that gives you full access to your PTZOptics camera's settings, image controls, presets, streaming configuration, and automation features, all from any device on your local network.

info

The Horizon Web UI is the next-generation interface for PTZOptics cameras. It is separate from the legacy web interface.

Accessing the Horizon Web UI (Login)

Open a web browser and navigate to:

http://[camera-ip-address]/horizon

Example: If your camera's IP address is 192.168.1.100, you would go to:

http://192.168.1.100/horizon

Once logged in, you will be brought to the home screen.

UI Layout Overview

Screenshot of the dashboard

The Horizon Web UI is divided into two main areas:

The sidebar provides navigation and quick controls. It contains:

ElementDescription
PTZOptics Logo / Device NameDisplays your camera's hostname. Clicking the logo opens ptzoptics.com.
Horizon badgeIndicates the current interface version.
DashboardMain camera control page.
Audio/VideoStreaming, encoding, and audio settings.
DeviceNetwork, profile, system, and device info.
Voice TrackingMicrophone-driven control/switching automation.
StandbyPuts the camera into low-power standby mode.
PrivateMutes/covers the camera output.
RebootRestarts the camera.
LogoutLogs out of the web interface.

Quick Profile Select

Below the main navigation, the sidebar shows up to three Quick Profile shortcuts. By default these are labeled Studio, Low Light, and Outdoor. Clicking any profile immediately applies that saved configuration to the camera, including image settings, audio encoding, and video output.

note

Quick Profiles are created and managed in Device → Profile. Only profiles marked "Include on Quick Profile Select" will appear in the sidebar.

Main Content Area

The right side of the screen changes based on the selected navigation item. The Dashboard is the default view and contains the live video preview, PTZ controls, preset management, and color/studio tools.

Firmware and Version Information

The Horizon Web UI version is tracked independently of the camera firmware. You can view both under Device → Device Info:

  • Firmware Version: The camera's current SOC and ARM firmware
  • Horizon Version: The version of the Horizon UI itself

Additionally, Horizon will notify you of available updates for hardware and firmware with a small update badge directly above the navbar. To keep your camera's apps up-to-date, use the built-in Updater tab under Device Settings.
